Gymnastics Event

 

This week some of our Yr3/4 children took part in a gymnastic event at Best Centre. Here the children undertook a wide range of gymnastic based activities. We even got to have a go on the trampolines and jump into the foam pit!

Multi-Skills Event

On Monday some of our Yr3/4 children took part in a Multi-Skills Event at Burnley College! Here, the children participated in a wide range of activities such as throwing, jumping, kicking and running! 
It was an amazing event; the children all learnt new skills and made new friends along the way! Well done everyone one who attended! 

Spar Games Launch

 

On Friday, some of our Yr6 children took part in the Spar Games Launch over at Spar’s HQ in  Preston.

Cherry Fold represented Burnley, with a host of other schools attending the event.
We met some very important people, who all have a special role in organising the Spar School Games 
We met Olympian Pole Vaulter Holly Bradshaw, who talked about her journey towards winning a Bronze medal in Tokyo 2020 and her ambitions to attend Paris 2024.
We even got to hold her medal! 
We even got a tour of the HUGE Spar distribution centre itself. There was an added bonus of having lunch together with all the other schools. We had an amazing time!

Multi-skills event at Burnley College

 

 

Some of our KS1 children took part in a multi-skills event at Burnley College this week. Here they took park in a wide range of activities. These included throwing, jumping, kicking, running and catching! They were an absolute credit to the school and represented Cherry Fold to the highest standards!  Well done everyone! 

This Girl Can

Some of our Yr5/6 girls took part in a 'This Girl Can' event at Roefield Leisure Centre (Clitheroe). Here they took part in a carousel of events including a Halloween Treasure Hunt, Gym Session and our favourite, UV Dodgeball! It was AMAZING!! 

Well done to everyone who took part! You were all a credit to the school!

Tag-Rugby World Cup Event

Some of our Yr5/6 children took part in the Tag-Rugby World Cup Event  held today. Here we competed against some very strong opposition (playing 5 games), whilst flying the Cherry Fold and Japan (our adopted country) flag high!

After a tricky start, the children slowly found their rhythm, quickly adapted, and showed amazing teamwork! 
Well done everyone!! 

Active 60 Event at Prairie Sports Village

We took some of our Yr3/4 children to an Active 60 Event at Prairie Sports Village. Here the children took part in a wide range of activities including football golf, throwing, catching and parachute games! ⚽️⛳️
 
The children were absolutely brilliant and represented Cherry Fold to the highest standards. We are super proud of their achievements! We learnt lots of new skills and made new friends
 

'Fun Run' at Towneley Park

On Tuesday we took some of our year 2 children to take part in a 'Fun Run' at Towneley Park. Here the children ran a huge distance of 1mile, whilst tackling some tricky obstacles along the way such as a tunnel crawl, bubble machine; they even had to do 10 star jumps on their way to completing the course.

Some of our year 3 and 4 children took part in an Outdoor Adventure activity event at Towneley Park.
Here, they took part in a wide range of activities, focusing on teamwork, communication skills and determination
