Year 5/6 Cross Country Competition

On Tuesday 18 March, 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) from Year 5 and 6 represented Cherry Fold in a Cross Country race. The children were all fantastic and gave it their best efforts. We had two children from the event qualify for the East Lancashire Finals later in the year. All the children should be proud of themselves for the effort they put in and well done for completing 

Year 3/4 OAA

On Wednesday 13th March, 6 children from year 3 and 4 went to Towneley Park to an OAA competition. The children work on some team building activities before going on to the orienteering around Towneley park finding Pokémon. The children really enjoyed the event and worked really well as a team. 

Year 3/4/5/6  Dance Festival

On Tuesday 11th March, 32 children from year 3 up to year 6 represented the school at Burnley School Dance Festival. The children had worked on this routine for the past 11 weeks and then got the chance to perform in front of over 500 people. The dance group perform amazing on the evening and made the school proud  and they all seemed to have a big smile on their face and enjoy the event. 

Year 5/6 Active 60 Festival

On Monday 11th March, 6 children from Year 5 and 6 went to Prairie Sports Village for an Active 60 Festival. The children done 4 different sports golf, football golf, Netball and team building activity. The children all enjoyed the afternoon playing lots of different sports with a big smile on their faces. 

Year 5/6 Tag Rugby 

On Wednesday 5th March, some of our Year 5/6 boys and girls took part in a Tag Rugby Festival at Spirit of Sport. Here the children were involved in a group tournament in which they played 4 games. The children worked really hard and tried their best, scoring some fantastic Tries and showing real team spirit. All the children showed excellent determination, resilience and respect. Well done to all.  

Year 5/6 Multi Sports

On Monday 3rd March, some of our children from year 5 and 6 visited Burnley College to take part in a Multi-Sports event. The children played 8 different skilled games focusing on fundamental movement. The children all had a big smile on their faces and really enjoyed playing the different games. 

Year 5/6 Sports Hall Athletics 

On Wednesday 5th February some children from year 5/6 went to Sir John Thursby Community College to join in a Sports Hall Athletics competition. The children completed 4 track events and 5 field events. The Children all tried their best and represent the school really well finish 3rd out of 7 schools. All the children really enjoyed the event and had a big smile on their faces. Well done to all involved.

Year 6 Speed Stacking

On Tuesday 4th February some children from year 6 went to St Peters Center to join in a Speed Stacking Festival and Competition. The children completed 10 different events involving Speed Stacking. When competing in the competition they were split into two teams with the boys team finish 5th out of 8 and the girls team finished 3rd out of the 8 teams. The Children all tried their best and represented the school really well. All the children really enjoyed the event and had a big smile on their faces. 

Year 2/3 Sports Hall Athletics 

On Tuesday 21st January some children from year 2/3 went to Blessed Trinity to join in a Sports Hall Athletics Festival. The children completed4 track events and 4 field events. The Children all tried their best and represent the school really well. All the children really enjoyed the event and had a big smile on their faces. Well done to all involved. 

Year 4/5/6 Panathlon

On Tuesday 21st January some children from year 4/5/6 went to Burnley Campus to join in a Panathlon. The children completed 8 different events trying to score as many points as possible on each event. They were rewarded with a medal for all their hard work. All the children really enjoyed the event and had a big smile on their faces. Well done to all involved. 

Year 2/3/4 Santa Dash

On Tuesday 3rd December some children from year 2/3/4 went to Queens Park to join in a Santa dash. The children had to run around the park in their Christmas jumpers, hats and gloves. They were rewarded with a medal for all their hard work. All the children really enjoyed the event and had a big smile on their faces. Well done to all involved. 

Year 3/4 Gymnastics Festival

On Tuesday 26th November, some of our children from year 3 and 4 visited The Best Centre to take part in a Gymnastic event. The children tried different gymnastics skills such as trampolining, balance beam, bars, spring board into a foam pit and floor routines. The children all had lots of fun and really enjoyed the experience at The Best Centre.  

Year 3/4 Multi-Sports Festival

On Monday 19th November, some of our children from year 3 and 4 visited Burnley College to take part in a Multi-Sports event. The children played 9 different skilled games focusing on fundamental movement. The children all had a big smile on their faces and really enjoyed playing the different games.  

Year 5/6 Girls Football Cup Match

On Friday 15th November, the year 5 and 6 girls took part in a cup match against Brunshaw Primary School at Unity College. The girls lost the match but played fantastic and give everything with a never give up attitude. 

Year 6 Bench Ball 

On Tuesday 12th November, some of our year 6 attended a Bench Ball event at Unity College. The 8 children took part in a 6 game competition and played really well, showing great sportsmanship, positive attitudes and having plenty of fun. They ended up finish 3rd overall out of 8 schools. Well done all you was fantastic.

Year 5/6 Girls Football

On Friday 8th November, some of our Year 5/6 Girls took part in a football qualifiers at Burnley College. Here the children were involved in a group tournament in which they played 4 games. The children worked really hard and tried their best, scoring some fantastic goals and showing real team spirit. All the children showed excellent determination, resilience and respect. Well done to all.

On Friday 1st November, some of our Year 5/6 boys took part in a football qualifiers at Burnley College. Here the children were involved in a two-group tournament in which they played 4 games. The children worked really hard and tried their best, this was rewarded with a 3rd place finish at the qualifiers. All the children showed excellent determination, resilience and respect. Well done yo all.  

Tag Rugby Year 3/4 

On Tuesday 29th October, some of our Year 4 children took part in a Tag Rugby festival at Prairie Sports Village. Here the children were involved in a two-group tournament in which they played 8 games. The children worked really hard and tried their best, this was rewarded with a 3rd place finish at the festival. All the children showed excellent determination, resilience and respect. Well done everyone.
